Team KESQ, John White Make Big Charge On Day 3… Take Lead
KESQ’s anchorman extraordinaire, John White, continued play in the Broadcasters Charity Challenge at the Bob Hope Classic on Friday. To the winner, go bragging rights and $10,000 toward the charity of their choosing.
John showed up at the Palmer Private Course — with the “edge.” After a solid tee shot on the 18th, John hit his best iron shot of the tournament to within 5 feet. His approach shot was compared to a “butterfly landing with sore feet.” Soon after, John put his hands in the air and jogged up toward the green a ways. He would make the birdie to earn a “net-Eagle” for his team.
White and Team KESQ carried that momentum through the round to erase a 3-stroke deficit to the leading broadcaster’s team. White and Co. now hold a three shot lead of their own after a combined round of 14-under. They’ll hope to continue that hot streak in the final round of amateur play on Saturday.
