Details Of Tuesday Night Stabbing In Palm Springs Slow In Coming

A 71 year-old man is dead after a stabbing in Palm Springs.

He was pronounced dead at Desert Regional Medical Center, according to the Riverside County Coroner.

The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. on the 300 block of Sunview Avenue, just south of Tramview Road, according to Sgt. Mike Kovaleff.

Palm Springs police investigators had a woman in custody just before 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, and said she had stabbed her mother’s fiancee.

“Police learned that the victim was stabbed after a family argument,” said police spokesperson Rhonda Long.

The suspect, Michelle Booty, 32, of Palm Springs, was arrested a short distance away from the crime scene, and she was booked into county jail with pending murder charges.
