Early List Of Celebrities Announced For Kraft Nabisco Championship In Rancho Mirage

Organizers for the Kraft Nabisco Championship and leaders of the Screen Actors Guild Foundation released an early list of celebrities who will play at the Kraft Nabisco Championship Celebrity Pro-Am in March.

More than 40 celebrities are scheduled to appear in this year’s Celebrity Pro-Am, which will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Established by the legendary Dinah Shore in 1972, the Kraft Nabisco Championship Celebrity Pro-Am is one of the oldest celebrity pro-ams in all of professional golf.

Alice Cooper, Scott Bakula, Dennis Haysbert, Richard Karn, Richard Kind, Joe Pesci, Ron Perlman, Ray Romano and Peter Weller were just the tip of the iceberg on the list of stars headed to the desert. You can see the complete list in pictures on this page.

“We are pleased to announce this incredible lineup,” said Gabe Codding, tournament director for the Kraft Nabisco Championship. “We have worked closely with the SAG Foundation over the past few months to add some of the brightest, most exciting talent in Hollywood in addition to many of our most popular celebrities from years past. We also look forward to announcing several new celebrities in the next few weeks.”

The Pro-Am will be held Tuesday, March 29, and Wednesday, March 30, at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage during the LPGA major’s Tournament Week.

The 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship Celebrity Pro-Am will be held on both the Arnold Palmer Course and the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club. The Pro-Am will be played over two days, with celebrities offered the choice of playing one day or two.

Spectators were encouraged to bring their cameras during both days of the Pro-Am. No cameras are allowed once championship play begins on Thursday, March 31.

This year’s professional tournament will once again feature nearly 100 of the elite players in women’s professional golf, led by defending champion and LPGA Rolex Player of the Year Yani Tseng, in addition to Paula Creamer, Natalie Gulbis, Ai Miyazato, Jiyai Shin and Michelle Wie.
