Indio Police Search For Third Suspect After Early Morning Police Chase

Officers in Indio were looking for a third suspect who led them on a brief chase through the city early Tuesday morning.

Investigators said they received a call around 1:50 a.m. in the area of Monroe Street and Miles Avenue, where a group of males in a dark-colored vehicle had driven up to someone and brandished a gun.

The victim gave police a description of the dark-colored Toyota Camry, which was last seen heading west on Miles Avenue from Monroe Street.

Officers conducted a search and spotted a vehicle matching the description. After trying to pull the car over, police pursued the car for a short distance to the Arabia Garden Mobile Home Park on Clinton Street, where three people inside got out and ran off.

Police apprehended two of them. Salvador Bernal, 18, and a 17-year-old male were taken into custody.

The outstanding suspect is a Hispanic male in dark clothing last seen in the mobile home park near Clinton Street.

Further investigation linked them to the incident on Monroe Street, and a loaded stolen handgun was found in the Toyota Camry.
