Father Arrested After Missing 5-Year-Old, Little Sister Found

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies confirm a 5-year-old boy and his younger sister who went missing on Tuesday night in Yucca Valley have been found 13 miles from where they disappeared.

They said 5-year-old Alexander Lain walked away from his home on Onaga Trail in Yucca Valley on Tuesday just before 9 p.m.

Several viewers called us in the newsroom to tell us helicopters were circling the area on Tuesday night. Many of our high desert Facebook followers alerted News Channel 3 to the news the boy had been found on Wednesday morning.

San Bernardino County deputies confirmed the boy had been found about 9:30 a.m., along with his younger sister 13 miles away.

The little girl had never been reported missing.

News Channel 3’s Jason Sloss reported on Wednesday afternoon the children’s father had been detained for unknown reasons.
