New Snow Blankets Mt. San Jacinto, Surrounding Mountains

Riverside County mountains got a fresh blanket of snow, thanks to the series of storms that swept through the Southern California area over the weekend.

The National Weather Service reports Pinyon Pines received 3.09 inches of snow, Anza got 1.39 inches, and Idyllwild got 1.88 inches. A final report from the top of the tramway was still due.

On the valley floor, meantime, all roads are back open after flooding caused some closures.

Palm Desert received 1.10 inches of rain, Palm Springs got .88 inches and Thernal received .91 inches of rain, according to the NWS.

Sunday’s forecast called for clearer conditions, but chilly temperatures. Watch the First Alert Forecast on this page for more.
