4-Year-Old Shooting Victim Upgraded To Fair Condition
A 5-year-old boy who was injured in a shooting between two vehicles in Indio has been upgraded to fair condition, police said on Tuesday.
Adam Noah De Leon was shot in the crossfire on Feb. 21 outside his home near the Riverside County Fairgrounds.
“Doctors are saying he’s doing good. He’s a real strong boy. He’s doing really, really good,” said father Adam DeLeon.
He was doing so well, in fact, doctors at Loma Linda Medical Center were moving him to Palm Springs on Tuesday to Desert Regional Medical Center for continued treatment.
Police launched an intensive search for the people responsible for the shooting, offering a $10,000 reward made up of money confiscated in gang crackdowns.
“It shouldn’t be the reward people are looking for. They should do it because it’s a kid, he’s innocent. If they’ve seen something, they should come forward. I would do it,” said DeLeon.
