Palm Springs Man Expected To Survive Banning Shooting

A Palm Springs man shot in Banning is expected to survive, but the shooter was at large, police said.

The 20-year-old was shot in the left arm around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday about a block north of a residence at 1161 Weaver St., according to the Banning Police Department.

He was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and released, police said.

He told police he was hanging out with friends when he heard gunshots and felt a burning sensation in his left forearm because he had been shot.

He said he did not know why he’d been shot.

Several shell casings were found in front of the residence on Weaver Street, but police had no motive or suspects.
