Woman Killed In Indio Pedestrian Accident

A woman pedestrian from Indio was struck and killed by a Ford Explorer late this afternoon near the Indian Springs Country Club, police said.

The accident occurred about 4:15 p.m. at 45261 Coeur d’Alene Drive, a street that borders the country club, according to Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department.

The woman was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where she died, police said.

Her name was not released because next of kin have not been notified, Guitron said. It is believed she was 58, he said.

The 69-year-old driver, who was also from Indio, fully cooperated with the investigation, Guitron said.
