Cathedral City Firefighters Surpass $20,000 in Collection Drive

The Cathedral City fire department and the Muscular Dystrophy Association have reason to celebrate. Firefighters held their 3rd annual “fill the boot” campaign, and Saturday they reached their goal of collecting $20,000 in donations.

Firefighters had their boots out at the corner of Cathedral Canyon and Ramon Friday and Saturday. On Friday, they collected over $8,000, and Saturday over $12,000.

Those donations will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, paying for research and services for kids with neuromuscular diseases.

City leaders and firefighters want to give a big thanks to all those who helped “fill the boot.”
