Three Story Cabin Engulfed In Flames In Pine Cove

Fire ripped through a three-story cabin in Pine Cove today and power was knocked out to some area residents, but there were no reports of any injuries.

The blaze was reported at 8:57 a.m. on Pine Cove Road near Highway 243, according to Jody Hagemann of Cal Fire.

Fire crews responding to the scene found the cabin well-involved in flames. About an hour later, firefighters were beginning to get control of the blaze, Hagemann said, and by 11 a.m., the fire was fully contained.

No one was injured.

She said 24 firefighters and seven fire trucks were initially sent to the blaze in the San Jacinto Mountains.

Power lines were knocked down across Highway 243 near the blaze, according to the California Highway Patrol. It was unclear how many customers were affected.
