Hit and Run in Cathedral City

Cathedral City Police responded to a report of a hit and run in the 31500 block of Ave Maravilla. When officers arrived they located a man and a wheelchair lying in the street.

A witness followed the suspect and provided a Cathedral City Police Dispatcher with the suspect?s vehicle information. The witness followed the suspect to the area of San Joaquin Road and San Jose Road in the Dream Homes area and watched the suspect run into the desert towards Gene Autry Trail.

Officers conducted an extensive search, but were unable to locate the driver.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, wearing a white collar shirt with blue stripes with light skin and was approximately 5?03?to 5?07? in height.

The victim was named as 24 year old Pedro Cervantes. He was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
