Cool Centers Ready For Hot Summer
Cool centers are now open across the valley to help people beat the heat.
As temperatures spike, so does the potential for heat-related illnesses.
Cool centers are available to give people a chance to cool-off, grab some water, a snack — and stay safe.
“I think for some people it’s almost a lifesaver. Believe it or not, there are people in the Coachella Valley that don’t have air conditioning. And when that house gets hot — 104 in the afternoon — you want out. Someplace where you can be a little cooler and survive,” said Robin Thorne with Cathedral Center in Cathedral City.
