Lakers Draft 4 Players in Busy 2nd Round

The L.A. Lakers didn’t have a first round draft pick, but they remained plenty busy in the 2nd round of Thursday’s NBA draft. The purple and gold had four late picks and started with a standout guard from Michigan. Darius Morris, a point guard for the Wolverines was selected 41st overall. He will likely become the understudy to Lakers legend Derek Fisher. L.A. stayed with the guard theme 5 picks later and chose the Southern Conference Player of the Year, Andrew Goudelocke. Goudelocke led the College of Charleston with just over 24 points a game. His ability to shoot the deep ball is noteworthy.

The Lakers then selected two big men with their last two picks. At number 56, L.A. opted for Chukwudiebere (CHU-KOO-DE-BERRY) Maduabum (MAH-DAY-BUM), a center from Nigeria. He saw limited time in the NBA’s developmental league recently. With the fourth and final pick of the night, the Lakers chose Ater (AH-TER) Majok (MOO-SHYOKE) at number 58. Majok, a 6 foot-10 inch forward from Sudan played one year for the Connecticut Huskies in 2009-10.
