Valley Liquor Stores Burglarized

Two men are in jail accused of burglarizing two liquor stores.

Police say an alarm went off just before 5 am Friday morning at Palm Liquor on south El Cielo Road in Palm Springs.

Investigators say a laptop computer, several hundred dollars, alcohol, and tobacco were missing from the store.

Police arrested 44-year old Russell Berry after a short foot chase. Lehman Mitchell, 30, was taken into custody about two hours later.

Police say both suspects could be tied to a similar burglary earlier that morning at Desert Hot Springs Liquor Store.

Both men are on parole and were taken to county jail in Banning.
