Nevada Amtrak Crash

Six people are now confirmed dead in a crash between an amtrak train and a truck in the Nevada desert.

The crash happened Friday when a truck slammed into the side of an amtrak passenger train.

The truck driver and the trains conductor were the first to be confirmed dead in earlier reports.

Now we are learning there were at least four others as well as 20 people were hurt.

It is possible more bodies could be found in two amtrak cars that were badly damaged by fire after the crash.

Investigators said about 28 people remain unaccounted for. Some passengers may have gotten off the train before the accident or been have left the scene and not informed authorities.

Investigators said the truck driver tried to brake before the crash. Nevada highway patrol said skid marks were found at the railroad crossing roughly 70 miles east of Reno, indicating the driver tried to stop.

The train was in route from Chicago to Emeryville, California.
