ABC Recovery Center’s Air Conditioning Stolen

A break-in at the ABC Recovery Center in Indio left the facility without two air conditioning units.

The head of the non profit rehab center said theives struck again overnight for the third time in a month.

Employees made the discovery Monday morning.

“Somebody has stolen the insides of them and will get 40, 60 or 70 dollars worth of scrap metal,” said CEO David Linkens. “It end up costing us $6,000 or $7,000 to replace the units”

Linkens said it will take about a week to replace them.

That means 150 clients at the center will have to deal with the heat.

During another break-in at the center, theives took off with a TV, stereo and security cameras.
