270 Workers Face Uncertain Future In Plant Shutdown

KESQ Newschannel 3 has confirmed that the Palm Springs location of Carefusion manufacturing facility will be closing.

According to a spokesperson for Carefusion, company leaders told workers at the Palm Springs office on Wednesday that they would be shutting down the facility located near Gene Autry Drive in 18 months.

The Palm Springs facility manufactures ventilators, according the spokeswoman. They also manufacture the same equipment at their plant in Minneapolis.

They decided to move all ventilator manufacturing to the plant in Minneapolis.

The Palm Springs office houses 270 employees.

The spokesperson says that there may be some relocation opportunities, but it is too soon to tell. They wanted to give the employees sufficient notice so they could prepare for the closing.
