Man Shot, Killed In Desert Hot Springs

Desert Hot Springs police are investigating the death of a teenager who was shot killed inside a trailer park late Thursday night.

Police Commander Dan Bressler said the shooting happened around 11 p.m. on the 15-600 block of Palm Drive in the Palm Drive Mobile Estates.

Officers were helping a driver involved in an earlier accident nearby when they heard gunshots, he said.

When they arrived at the mobile home park, they found an 18 year-old inside a vehicle who had been shot.

He was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Bressler said although there have been no arrests made, several people have been taken in for questioning.

Both the victim and the people being questioned are suspected of being affiliated with rival street gangs.
