Eisenhower Medical Center Ranked Best In Gynecology

U.S. News and World Reports ranked Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage as the fourth best hospital in Riverside County for its Gynecology Department in its latest issue.

The rankings spotlight 720 hospitals around the nation out of a pool of 5,000. Each one is ranked among the country’s top hospitals in at least one medical specialty or ranked among the best in a certain metro area.

“(The ranking) is not only a testament to the excellent patient care our skilled physicians and dedicated staff give our patients each and every day,” said G. Aubrey Serfling, President and Chief Executive Officer of Eisenhower Medical Center, “but also underscores our commitment to the women we serve by providing the very best gynecologic care.”

Serfling touted Eisenhower’s Women’s Health offerings in a statement released on Tuesday.

He said gynecologists on the Rancho Mirage campus and at the Eisenhower Argyros Health Center in La Quinta helped garner the award. In addition, complex gynecological surgeries are performed at Eisenhower using an innovative technique called the da Vinci S HD surgical system.

The procedure is used on surgeries from hysterectomies and tumor removal to repair for prolapsed bladder and uterus.

Free and low cost education events about Women’s Health issues are held both on the Eisenhower campus and at the La Quinta location, he said.
