TV Producer Claims He Met Casey Anthony In Palm Springs

A freelance television producer told CNN’s Headline News on Wedneday he met with Casey Anthony in Palm Springs, Calif., on Monday, and offered her $1 million for an interview.

On Drew Pinsky’s HLN show, Al Taylor said he received a call asking him to meet with Anthony.

“…if the report is true, she flew back to Florida or she is still in the general area or maybe down in Carlsbad. They didn’t tell me where they were going afterward,” said Taylor. “But I got a call early Tuesday morning, from a representative that said if you want to meet with her, be in this certain area in 15 minutes. I was game. I showed up. I wasn’t for sure if I was going to meet her, and sure enough, she was there. And the first thing she said to me was:” where is the check?” She wants that $1 million check.”

Where the meeting took place is still a mystery. Taylor refused to say which hotel the meeting happened in.

Taylor said Anthony’s first words to him were about his financial offer.

What would the $1 million get?

“We’re going to get an interview… The lie detector has become a big deal… I want to hook her up to a lie detector after we do the interview,” Taylor answered. “And she was unsure about that of course. And I said, well, it helps you in the end, because who knows what she’s going to say… We can’t guarantee she’s going to give really short answers.”

Taylor said he may sell the interview overseas and then give it away in the U.S. to avoid a boycott.

Meanwhile, a company called Schalmo Production, based in Ohio, claims to be offering Anthony $5 million for an interview.

On its Twitter profile, the company posted, “Just received a great call. In contact with defense team and Jose’s agent. 5 million offer for CaseyAnthony. Negotiations tomorrow.”
