3.1 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Area Near La Quinta

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake hit an area between Anza and La Quinta on Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake hit about 10:42 a.m. and was centered about 12 miles ease southeast of Anza and 18 miles southwest of La Quinta.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.
