Car Crashes Into Country Club Gate, Fountain, Golf Cart

The driver of a car which crashed through the gates of Palm Desert Country Club on Monday morning was transported to a local hospital, where her condition is not known.

Palm Desert police told News Channel 3 a 4-door, green sedan hit a median and a fountain outside of the resort and country club, which is located on California Road, at about 9:30 a.m.

The car also hit a golf cart used on the premises for maintenance, which was carrying chemicals at the time. Powder covered the vehicle, sending hazardous materials teams in to clean it up.

What caused the car to hit so many objects is now under investigation.
