Deputies Search For Armed & Dangerous Robbery Suspect
One week after a skate shop in Cabazon’s Premium Outlets was held-up, Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were searching for a suspect whose trail appeared to have ended.
Sgt. Sean Bahash said the Zumiez store was robbed on Wednesday, July 27, by a white man who entered the store, hid merchandise in his baggy pants and threatened workers with a knife when they confronted him.
Through interviews and more investigating, deputies identified the suspect as Austin Wade Alesi, 19, of Calimesa.
He is on probation in both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties for theft-related crimes.
The vehicle Alesi allegedly used to get away from the crime scene in Cabazon was recovered, but investigators found it to be registered to a friend.
Now, deputies need the public’s help in tracking him down.
Alesi is described as a white male adult, 5 ft. 7 in. tall, and weighing 155 pounds.
He has a closely shaved head with brown hair and brown eyes and has tattoos on both arms (“1991” on his right forearm and “Alesi” on his left forearm).
If Alesi is spotted, deputies said do not approach him and notify the local law enforcement agency immediately.
Anyone with information about this case or Alesi’s whereabouts is urged to call Investigator Robert Jones at the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station, 951-922-7100, or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center, 1-800-950-2444, or email at CabazonStation@RiversideSheriff.org.
