Palm Springs Police Looking For Attempted Rape Suspect

A search was underway today for a man who broke into an apartment in Palm Springs and tried to rape a woman, police officers said.

Officers responded at 2:30 a.m. Saturday to an apartment in the 2800 block of Golf Club Drive, where a woman reported that an unknown adult male had broken into her residence through a bedroom window and attempted to rape her, police said.

The victim was able to fight the man off and escape to a neighbor’s apartment where she called for help, according to police. She suffered minor injuries.

Authorities described the suspect as white, 20-25 years old with short dark hair, 5’8″ or 5’9″, clean-shaven and approximately 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt with a black design on the front.
