Deputies Find Alleged Copper Thieves Hiding On Roof

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men on suspicion of stealing copper piping after finding them hiding today inside a rooftop air- conditioning unit.

Larry Cirrincione, 51, and Adam James Mendonca, 35, both of Jurupa Valley, were arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy to commit burglary, sheriff’s Sgt. Andrew Elia said.

Both were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

Someone reported a burglary in progress around 12:40 a.m. today in the 8000 block of Limonite Avenue, and deputies “found two men hiding on the rooftop inside of the building’s air condenser unit,” Elia said.

Cirrincione and Mendonca got into the building through a rooftop vent and removed copper piping from the refrigeration cooling room, Elia said.

Anyone with more information about the thefts was asked to call Elia at (951) 955-2600.
