Gil Diaz
Gil Diaz loves to tell stories, whether it is breaking news or features.
Gil joined News Channel 3 in 2005. His familiarity with the Coachella Valley is an asset when finding stories and interviews, and his experience and versatility allows him to adapt to any environment and situation. He’s covered many major stories, including the Esperanza Fire, the death of former President Gerald Ford and Operation “Falling Sun.”
In 2009, during the recession, Gil created the “Good News” series. He told uplifting and inspirational stories about people in the desert.
Gil was born and raised in Los Angeles. He has more than eight years of news reporting and news anchoring experience. He’s also worked at television stations in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Massachusetts.
Gil has a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University
