Deputies Search For Missing Marine

The Morales brothers continue to look for their cousin, 20-year-old Marine Lance Cpl. Cesar Morales, after he disappeared early Monday mornin0.

Morales was on his way to see his girlfriend three hours away in Yuma late Sunday. His girlfriend says he turned around near Indio and Interstate 10 once he figured out he couldn’t visit her and make it back in time for work on Monday.

“We don’t expect this from him; he’s always kept in touch with the family,” said his cousin, Esteban Morales.

Morales’ girlfriend says he called when he made it back to Yucca Valley. No one has heard from him since.

The Twentynine Palms Marine Base called his parents on Monday when he didn’t report for duty. Officials say there appears to be no foul play.

Morales was driving a 2001 black Audi TT with California license plate 6RST855.
