Hikers Rescued From Atop Mount San Jacinto

Two hikers are safe, after getting lost in the mountains near Idyllwild Saturday night.

The pair called for help, saying they were lost, according to Sergeant Robert Himmelberg of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

A search began just before 8:30 p.m. in the area of Angels Fright Trail near Humber Park.

At 11:35 p.m. members of the Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit found the hikers and took them to safety.

The hikers’ names have not been released.

They were uninjured and did not require medical attention.
