Four Cars Burned In Indio Parking Lot

Riverside County firefighters were mopping up after several cars were reported on fire Thursday morning.

Spokeswoman Jody Hagemann reported dispatchers received a call reporting the fire at a shopping center located at 45630 Citrus Avenue at around 5:30 a.m. That center is located directly across Interstate 10 from Fantasy Springs Casino.

At least four vehicles were on fire when firefighters arrived, Hagemann detailed in a news release.

The shopping center is home to at least two auto collision repair shops.

The fire was contained about three hours after it started, and caused $30,000 in damage.

Investigators were looking into what caused the cars to catch fire.
