Russell Brand, Katy Perry File For Divorce
Actor/comedian Russell Brand filed for divorce today from his wife of about 15 months, singer Katy Perry.
The couple were married on Oct. 23, 2010, in India.
In a statement, the 36-year-old Brand said, “Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”
Rumors about troubles between the celebrity couple began swirling in recent days, particularly after Perry, 27, spent Christmas in Hawaii with friends, while Brand remained in London. Both were photographed several times without wedding rings on.
Various tabloid reports indicated that the couple had a large argument shortly before the holiday.
The court papers, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, cite irreconcilable differences.
