Indian Wells Announces Athena Award Recipients

The Indian Wells Athena Committee announced the 2012 Indian Wells Athena Awards recipients on Monday.

Rose Tijernia-Swearingen, Ph.D., will receive the Professional Excellence Athena Award. Rose is the owner & director of Life’s Journey, a residential treatment facility specializing in treatment for people suffering addiction with several other diagnoses. It was founded in 1996.

Travis Erwin will receive the Community Service Athena Award. Travis is known for her volunteerism, especially in fundraising, for many of the valleys well-known charities and foundations.

Both woman will receive their award at the Athena luncheon on Wed., April 25th, in the Crystal Ballroom at the Renaissance Esmeralda Hotel, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m..

The event is sponsored by the City of Indian Wells, the Indian Wells Chamber of Commerce, Best Best & Kreiger and Burrtec.
