Prosecutors Charge Iraq War Veteran With Serial Murders
A Marine and Iraq war veteran suspected of stabbing four homeless men to death in Orange County was charged today with four counts of murder.
Itzcoatl Ocampo, 23, of Yorba Linda, was arrested Friday night when witnesses chased him from the scene of the most recent fatal attack, which occurred behind a Carl’s Jr. at 3110 E. La Palma Ave. in Anaheim.
Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said a decision had not yet been made on whether to seek the death penalty.
