Trial Expected To Get Underway For Suspected Shooter
Opening statements are expected to begin Tuesday morning in a mental competency trial for a Los Angeles area gang member.
21 year old, Anthony Magdaleno, is accused of murdering another man at a Desert Hot Springs supermarket.
Witnesses say Magdaleno shot 45 year old, Tony Chen, in front of the Palm Drive Von’s store after talking to him for less than a minute.
Two of the three doctors who have examined Magdaleno, found him incompetent to stand trial.
He could face 50 years to life in prison, if convicted.
