Prosecutors Won’t Ask Conrad Murray to Pay Restitution

Michael Jackson’s family is no longer asking for restitution from Doctor Conrad Murray. Prosecutors had initially wanted the doctor to pay more than $100 million dollars to Jackson’s children.

Murray’s attorneys had planned to ask a judge to reduce the restitution order arguing that the singer was partially responsible for his own death.

Jackson’s parents have each filed civil lawsuits against the promoters of Jackson’s final concerts. His father is suing Murray for wrongful death.

In November, a jury found Murray guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the pop singer’s June 2009 death.
