Big Crowd Flocked To See Old Cars

Car enthusiasts enjoyed the 6th Annual Hot Rod and Custom Car Show in La Quinta Community Center Park. It boasted more than 100 hot rods, custom cars, and motorcylces.

There were activities for everyone: a raffle, music, food vendors, and a beer garden.

One man says cars bring him back in time, and a teen race car driver still in his youth hopes to get to Nascar someday.

“Cars and bikes. I guess it’s part of never growing up, and reliving the youth as a teenager.” car enthusiast Steve Nygaard said.

“I’ve been racing for twelve years. We started in go-carts and have worked our way up,” race car driver Andre Prescott said.

Prescott is born and raised in La Quinta. He’s 16 years old and has been racing since he was four.
