Pilot Struck In Head By Propeller In San Diego Dies

A private pilot was killed Monday after the moving propeller of a light plane struck him in the head at Gillespie Field, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

KGTV.com reports the man was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 1 p.m., according to the FAA. His name was not released.

Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the accident.
