Palm Springs Hotel Celebrates Modernism

The Del Marcos Hotel joined Palm Springs in celebrating all things modern Friday.

The hotel in Palm Springs honored famed mid century architect Don Wexler by naming a room for him.

The hotel honored the architecture that helped turn the city into the modern mecca it is.

Wexler said he was shocked when he found out about the room dedication. Mostly, he’s proud of what Palm Springs has become.

“I think this is terrific that this has happened here. It was never planned it just happened. I think the city is well represented in modern design going back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s,” Don Wexler said.

Wexler was one of the most influential architects in Palm Springs during the golden era.
