Fire At Green Waste Facility In Thousand Palms

A pile of cut of tamarisk trees caught fire at Pro Landscaping early Wednesday morning, according to Riverside County Fire.

The facility is near Rio Del Sol Road and Vista Chino.

A bunch of people called News Channel 3 saying they could see the fire and smoke filling the sky.

Firefighters contained the flames, but have not put them out.

Crews remained on scene for hours to keep an eye on the fire and prevent it from spreading.

The trees could keep burning for the next few days, according to a fire spokesperson.

The debris is what’s left from the trees that caught fire along interstate ten back in 2009.
