Indio woman missing since Tuesday

Police are looking for a 28-year-old Indio woman reported by her family missing since Tuesday, an Indio police spokesman said Sunday.

Yessenia Ruiz’s family told police Saturday that she left the house in the 46-300 block of Calle Sonoma on Tuesday, and it was unknown where she was going or when she was planning to return, Benjamin Guitron of the Indio Police Department said.

“The family stated she has left before and returned home,” Guitron said. “They have not heard from her since she left and have made all attempts to locate her.”

According to Guitron, officers searched Ruiz’s known whereabouts and contacted other family members and friends without success.

Ruiz is 5-feet-1, weighs 135 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes, but police had no car or clothing description, Guitron said.

The Indio Police Deparment encouraged anyone with information about Ruiz to call (760) 391-4057 or Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-7867 for anonymous tips.
