Comedian Steve Bridges Dies at Age 48

Comedian, Impressionist, and ActorSteve Bridges, best known for his impersonation of President George W. Bush, has died. He was 48.

In addition to his impersonation of President Bush, he also appeared as Presidents Bill Clinton, and more recently as Barack Obama.

His most notable appearance came as President Bush?s alter ego, when the two men appeared, side by side, at the 2006, White House Correspondents? Dinner.

Mr. Bridges made frequent appearances on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In 2006, He toured with Barbara Streisand for nearly 20 performances.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Bridges developed a repertoire of more than 200 vocal impressions, including TV characters Barney Fife and Homer Simpson, broadcasters Tom Brokaw, Paul Harvey and Rush Limbaugh; but it was is spot-on embodiment of political leaders that rapidly established him as a premier vocal impressionist.

Bridges had recently returned from several performances in Hong Kong. Upon returning home Mr. Bridges complained to his manager that he was feeling ?super jetlagged.? A message left for Mr. Bridges on Friday, went unanswered. Bridges? maid discovered his body in his Los Angeles, home Saturday morning, March 3, 2012. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time.

Mr. Bridges is survived by his parents, Tom & Margaret Bridges, his brothers Phillip & Jon, and his sister ElizabethBridges ? all of Clayton, California. He is also survived by his niece Lauren Bridges of Thousand Oaks, California, and nephew Jonross Bridges, of Clayton, California, and niece Meredith Bridges, of Tooele, Utah.

Mr. Bridges was scheduled to make several appearances in the Coachella Valley this week.
