Trio Arrested After Indio Police Chase

Three men were arrested after leading police on a chase through Indioon Wednesdayand crashing into two other vehicles, police said.

The Indio Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team was seeking a suspect with a warrant around 5 p.m. The suspect and two other men were in a Ford Aerostar van at Arabia Street and Dr. Carreon Boulevard and did not stop for officers, said Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department.

The van headed west on Dr. Carreon Boulevard, then turned north on Monroe Street. The van hit another vehicle at Monroe and Hoover streets and continued north on Monroe. The van hit another vehicle at Monroe Street and Avenue 44. No one was injured, Guitron said.

Police caught up with the van near Monroe and Avenue 44 and took the three men into custody, Guitron said. They also found a handgun in the van.

The men were arrested on suspicion of evasion, failing to stop and weapons violations. Guitron did not have the suspects’ names and ages.
