Small plane crashes in Whitewater killing pilot

An ultra-light plane crashed Saturday night in Whitewater, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The small plane went down justafter 7:00p.m.just off the road leading up to the Whitewater preserve.

The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene, said Cheri Patterson with Riverside County Fire.

There’s no word on what caused the plane to go down.
