Armed robber strikes Palm Desert Rite Aid

An armed robber is on the loose after robbing a Palm Desert Rite Aid store full of customers in broad daylight.

According to Riverside County Sheriff Spokesperson Angel Ramos they got the call from the store just after 3:45 Tuesday afternoon. A light skinned Hispanic man with a bandana covering his face reportedly armed with a gun demanded money from a cashier at the store located on Varner Road in Palm Desert.

The suspect exited the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, he entered a car with a driver waiting outside the store and were last seen driving southbound on Washington Drive in Palm Desert. The car was described as a Black Lincoln LS with tinted windows and had no rear plates.
