4.0 magnitude earthquake shakes Mexico border

An earthquake measuring 4.0 in magnitude shook an area near the Mexican border with the state of California Tuesday morning.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the quake hit at 8:06 a.m. and was centered 9 miles south of Seeley and 12 miles southwest of El Centro.

There were no reports of anyt damage or injuries.

According to the USGS “Did You Feel It?” map, the earthquake was felt in San Diego, Thermal and as far away as Burbank.
