Armed Robbery at Rancho Mirage Convenience Store

Police were looking for two men who used a weapon while robbing a clerk at a Rancho Mirage gas station early Friday morning.

A spokesman for the Riverside County Sheriffs department says the suspects entered the Chevron gas station convenience store near the intersection of Bob Hope and Gerald Ford Drive at 4:06 a.m.

They demanded money from a clerk.

The spokesman said the suspects were armed with a semi automatic hand gun also a stun gun they tasered the clerk with before escaping.

Firefighters and an ambulance were dispatched to the store located inside the Pavilions shopping center.

No word on injuries or how much money the two got away with.

The suspects were described as Hispanic wearing ski masks and dark clothing.

The first was 6 feet tall and 250 pounds.

The second suspect was described as average height with a thin build.
