Mother held for allegedly trying to drown son

Authorities say an 8-year-old boy is hospitalized in stable condition after his mother tried to drown him in a Palmdale pool.
Neighbors tell KNX-AM radio that the boy was in the apartment complex pool at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday when the woman suddenly began pushing his head under water, telling him: “It’s the end of the world. I have to let you go.”
The boy struggled and yelled that he didn’t want to die.
Bystanders rescued the boy and called authorities. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says deputies arrested the 33-year-old mother.
