Police investigate car crash involving Lohan, 18-wheeler
Police say they are investigating a car crash involving actress Lindsay Lohan and an 18-wheel truck on a coastal highway near Los Angeles.
Santa Monica Police Sgt. Candice Cobarrubias says Lohan was involved a crash around 11:45 a.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway. Officers continued to investigate the accident into the afternoon and do not know the extent of Lohan’s injuries.
Cobarrubias said no one else was injured in the crash and that police would not immediately release any other details.
Calls to Lohan’s spokesman Steve Honig and her attorney Shawn Holley were not immediately returned.
TMZ.com reports Lohan was driving a rental car with her assistant in the passenger seat when Lohan told police the truck cut her off. The Porche slammed into the back of the truck, the website reported.
Lohan and her assistant were seen bloodied and bruised, but both were conscious after the accident.
Lohan has been filming a Lifetime movie on the love affair between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. She remains on probation in a necklace theft case, but is no longer being supervised by a judge or probation officer.
