Local high schoolers mark ‘Student and Youth Bill of Rights’
Students from Coachella Valley and Desert Mirage High Schools are in Sacramento, marking the introduction of a state resolution establishing rights for youth and students.
The students — along with KESQ/KUNA News Anchor Hernan Quintas — were bused to Sacramento, last night.
They’re set to mark the introduction of a student and youth bill of rights.
Hundreds of other students throughout the state attended the event Wednesday morning, which was hosted by Assemblyman Manuel Perez, D-Coachella.
The student and youth bill of rights is part of a statewide, youth-led movement aimed at guiding young people and improving education and other opportunities for young Californians.
