Indio shooting victim identified
The county coroner Friday identified a 45-year-old woman who was killed in a shooting in Indio that also left a man in serious condition.
Police responding to a report of gunfire about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday found the victims in the 46700 block of Daisy Street, said Indio police spokesman
Ben Guitron. Paramedics took them to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio where Isela Duran, of Indio, was pronounced dead at 10:15 p.m., according to the coroner.
The man’s wounds were not considered life-threatening, Guitron said. His name was withheld.
The victims were shot on the sidewalk in front of a home on Daisy Street, just north of Garden Avenue, close to where they were found, Guitron
said.
Witnesses reported hearing shots, and a suspect was seen running southbound on Daisy Street toward Garden Avenue, he said. He was described as a shirtless Hispanic man of about 18 with a large tattoo on his chest, wearing a black hat and dark shorts.
Authorities asked anyone with information about the shooting to call the Indio Police Department at (760) 391-4057 or Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867.
